CJ Lin

There is No Wind

Logline: A mysterious sonic boom rumbles above Taipei, prompting Ssu-Ning, an orchestra conductor, to reflect on the meaning of music. Simultaneously, her concert faces cancellation due to an impending typhoon.

Bio: Born in Taipei, Taiwan. CJ Lin is a writer/director currently based between New York, Paris and Taipei. He is now pursuing an MFA in Film Production at NYU Tisch. His films explore the subtle intersections between cinema and music.

In 2016, he was selected as a directing fellow at the Asian Film Academy of Busan International Film Festival. That same year, his short film debut Dinner Confession was selected by the East End Film Festival and KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival.

He has collaborated with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra on several documentary projects such as Mahler & Inbal, Sound of Silence: Taiwan Symphonic History, etc. His recent works continue to explore new cinematic possibilities within music-related subjects, aiming to make the invisible visible.
