Logline: An unknown young actor cast only as a corpse seizes his chance to shine when he single-handedly performs all seven roles in a hit play, sparking both acclaim and deadly envy among his fellow cast members.
Kasper Qiu is a Beijing-born writer and director based in New York, currently pursuing an MFA in Film at NYU Tisch after earning a BFA from the School of Visual Arts. Her films have screened at international festivals, including Tokyo International Short Film Festival and NYIFA. Her work is defined by a restrained, observational style that examines visibility, performance, and marginal identity. Kasper Qiu’s work is grounded in a strong focus on visual structure, production design, and the relationship between space and performance. She treats the frame as a controlled environment, where composition, color, and spatial arrangement function as core narrative elements rather than decoration.
