Logline: Desperate to earn the respect of a new group of friends, middle schooler Carl submits to a series of escalating humiliations, pushing him to confront how far he’s willing to go for a place to belong.
Bio: Sophus Andersen is a Danish filmmaker currently pursuing an MFA in Film at Tisch School of the Arts in New York.
Curious, confused, and worried about contemporary life, his work blends drama and dark humor to explore characters struggling to find connection and meaning in an ever faster-changing world.
His debut short film, A Boy’s Mind, was nominated for the New Danish Talent Award at the 2023 Copenhagen Short Film Festival. His follow-up short, Stimuli, was selected for the Danish Competition at the 2025 Odense Film Festival.
He has also directed and edited music videos for some of Denmark’s leading hip-hop and pop artists.
