Stephen Lyons II

Logline: Dom lives in a bleak reality. After the government mistakenly declares his grandmother dead, he struggles to restore her Medicare insurance before it’s too late.

Bio: Stephen Lyons II (he/him) grew up in Aberdeen, Maryland and is currently an MFA candidate at NYU’s Graduate Film Program. His work explores relationship dynamics within the black and queer communities through a surreal lens. His short film “Whitefish” was selected for 2013’s Open Road Film Festival where it won the Anacostia Shorts Contest and received Best of the Fest recognition. Moving forward, he aims to further cultivate his craft in order to tell stories that instill hope and healing in his community.
